Apple iPad Software Pouring into the App Store

The Apple iPad is just launching today, but owners of this new tablet computer already have a tremendous array of third-party software to choose from. Much of this was designed for the 3.5-inch screen on the iPhone, but a growing number of titles have been tuned for the iPad's 9.7-inch display.

Apple's latest runs the iPhone OS, and therefore can run software created for this company's smartphones and handhelds. These apps can be pixel-doubled to make them fill up most of the 1024-by-768-pixel display (see an example).

While these apps are usable, they aren't particularly satisfying. That's why companies have been rushing to re-format their apps to take full advantage of the iPad's larger screen.

Computer Systems Analyst (TAMPA, FL)

MS in Engineering/Computer Science or BS with 2 years experience.
Analyze science, engineering, business, and all other data processing problems for application to electronic data processing systems.
Travel required to clients job sites.
Must be familiar with one of the following: C#, ASP.NET, Java, Maximo, SQL, Cobol.

JAVA Developers

JAVA Developers with relevant experience incommercial software development or scientific IT environment.
2 years in Java development in Eclipse, Hibernate, HTML, JavaScript, Oracle SQL using JDBC.
2 years in creating and deploying web-basedinternet/intranet applications
